AP - The father of a college student whose suicide was broadcast live over a webcam said Saturday he was appalled by the virtual audience that egged on his son and called for tougher regulation of Internet sites.

Reuters - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama announced on Saturday that close aide Robert Gibbs would be White House press secretary and Ellen Moran of women's organization Emily's List would be director of communications.

President Bush, in what could be his final overseas trip as president, called on international leaders to continue his administration's push for free trade during the global financial crisis. After his speech, Bush held his last meeting as president with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, saying he has worked hard to ensure a "cordial relationship" for the two countries.

Barack Obama's transition office today announced the team that will be charged with getting his White House's message out. His communications director will come from outside his existing team: Ellen Moran heads up EMILY's List, a women's political organization. Robert Gibbs, Obama's campaign spokesman, will be press secretary.
